For the life of me I will never understand the reasoning for Lincoln’s current course. I understand there is a large market for SUVs and crossovers. But, there is a large number of potential consumers who want a larger luxury sedan. But, and I could be wrong, I think Lincoln shot themself in the dick, when they dropped the town car

That is the disappointing aspect. The Lincoln has always been associated with American luxury. There is no comparison with American cars and this model can compete with the Europeans. Grave disappointment that they discontinued their sedan. There is a huge difference between a "crossover/SUV" and sedan. These models are for the older car buyer. I don't want a SUV. The only other fault is that they stopped making the V8 for this car. Fuel injection is fine with the 4.6. I have a 2004 Grand Marquis and I just love it! Why does Detroit make so many blunders! Just stick with a good thing!

Scoot and Pam have a lot more money to throw away than i do...I like to see what they get on a trade in about 4 years from now.. OUCH.

what bugs me is that these "soft close" doors was pouted as a opulent quirk, my 2000 Mercedes S430 had soft close doors. Almost lost my finger because a friend closed it on my hand when i wasnt looking. For 120 id probably go get a loaded S class.

Actually, the original Continental Mark II (before the Continental brand absorbed into Lincoln/Ford Motor Co.) Popularized the coach door in a motor sedan many years before Rolls even thought about using it in their sedans.

Hey Doug, Your review of the Lincoln Coach Door was informative and well organized. BUT, did you look at yourself in the mirror before you walked out of your house to do this review? I was raised to do that to be sure that I was dressed appropriately for whatever the day ahead had in store. A baggy, ill-fitting college tee shirt? Rumpled shorts? Clunky sneakers with white ankle socks? Really? Reviewing a luxury sedan meant to be driven by a chauffeur? I know we've all gone casual, but your attire says you don't care,, and belies your observation that the car contributes to a sense of occasion. Try throwing on a blazer, a supremely practical piece of clothing (lots of pockets AND flattering to almost any body) to pull yourself together. Or at least wear a shirt with a collar! And try loafers if you own some. Or boat shoes! Absolutely no one interested in this car is going to appreciate someone dressed to knock back a few brewskis in the garage. Even in this day and age, people who spend $120K on a car want a little class. It doesn'thave to be a tux, but come on, man! You can do better than this!
